Drug Suspects Released on Bail

During the court session, the police officer presented the details of the case. The officer explained that the incident occurred on March 28, 2025, at around 3:00 p.m. on Belediye Bulvarı in Gönyeli.

While on patrol, officers from the Gönyeli Police Station approached a suspicious vehicle. As the suspects were about to leave the car, Gülşen Tarım Civelek was seen attempting to swallow a substance in her possession. The package, believed to contain drugs, was forcibly retrieved by the officers.

Both Civelek and the driver of the vehicle, Cihangir Tip, were arrested at the scene. The substance, which was seized as evidence, was identified as 1 gram of synthetic cannabinoid (commonly known as "bonsai").

The police stated that the investigation had been completed and that analysis confirmed the substance was indeed synthetic cannabinoid. Following the investigation, the suspects were brought to court twice, and their detention was extended by a total of six days.

In light of the completed investigation, the police requested that the suspects be released on bail. Judge Nuray Necdet, after evaluating the evidence, ruled that the suspects' departure from the country would be prohibited. Additionally, the suspects were required to report to the authorities every two weeks, post a cash bond of 35,000 TL each, and sign a personal guarantee bond of 100,000 TL each.
