It is recalled that during a weekend traffic control in Kyrenia, a woman who refused to take an alcohol test claimed that “the District Officer told me to blow.” She called the Kyrenia District Officer to the scene, where it was later revealed that the officer was nearby. Upon his arrival, Özcemaloğlu reportedly caused difficulties for the police. Eyewitnesses, who witnessed the interaction between the female driver, the police officers, and the District Officer, expressed their shock over the events.

The woman driver, who initially refused to provide a breath sample, caused a prolonged disruption for the police, according to witnesses. They reported that when the woman attempted to give her phone to the police officers, claiming, “The District Officer told me to blow, but I cannot,” she also refused to hand over her driver’s license.

One witness explained, “A black jeep arrived shortly after, and the person who got out was identified as Kyrenia District Officer Cemal Özcemoğlu. He approached the police officers and, speaking loudly, said, ‘You have to greet me. Do you know who I am?’”

Witnesses also stated that when the police requested a breath sample from Özcemoğlu, he refused and claimed that he did not have his driver’s license with him. They added that he tried to leave the scene, but the police explained to him that leaving without cooperating would constitute a crime. Eventually, Özcemoğlu reportedly made a phone call and handed the phone to the police.
