In a written statement, Eylem pointed out that the union learned from the media about the Council’s upcoming meeting and stressed the importance of reminding the ministers before the session. She stated:

“We would like to remind the ministers once again before the meeting: According to our Constitution, every individual under the age of 18 is considered a child. Creating problems for our girls and making decisions that allow pressure and abuse on our children would severely damage our societal identity and secular structure. This is unacceptable and will never happen. The Council of Ministers must stand with science, secularism, Atatürk’s principles, and the protection of the constitutional order.”

Eylem further argued that yielding to such pressures would push the public into conflict, which is unacceptable. She urged all ministers and MPs to remember the oath they took in Parliament and to act according to the oath they made on their honor and integrity.

In her statement, Eylem also referred to the oath text taken by KKTC parliamentarians.
