Erhürman Re-Elected as CTP General President and Announced as Presidential Candidate

At the 29th Ordinary Congress of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Tufan Erhürman was re-elected as the party's General President and was also unanimously confirmed as the party's candidate for President.

After his candidacy was announced, Erhürman delivered a powerful speech, declaring, "We are walking towards a threshold that will change the fate of this country together." He emphasized that while some would try to sow the seeds of conflict, he and his supporters would plant the seeds of brotherhood and peace in the soil of Cyprus.
Erhürman’s speech included a heartfelt message to the people of Cyprus, highlighting the current struggles, but reinforcing hope and determination for a brighter future. He called on the citizens to unite and work together to overcome the challenges and create a country where all can thrive.
Erhürman passionately stated that the path forward was one of unity, collective effort, and shared values, saying, "If you are ready, I am ready. If the people are with me, I am with them."
He underscored the importance of fighting for the country’s future, emphasizing that his candidacy was not just for an individual’s benefit but for the entire nation, particularly the younger generation. He pointed out the dire challenges faced by the people, such as economic hardship, inequality, and youth emigration, and vowed to tackle these issues head-on if elected.
In his closing remarks, Erhürman stressed that the presidency should not be a position for a few but a home for the entire Turkish Cypriot community. The ultimate victory, he declared, would be when they governed together, addressing the pressing issues and leaving a legacy of a country where everyone could live with dignity and hope.
