President Tatar, who was in Turkey to attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, evaluated his meeting with President Aliyev in Antalya, noting that their conversation lasted approximately 40 minutes. This meeting followed their previous encounter in Azerbaijan, where Tatar had been an official guest.

Tatar expressed his appreciation to President Aliyev for supporting the recognition of the TRNC and respecting the Turkish Cypriot people's struggle, particularly referencing Aliyev’s response to a question posed by Tatar’s Special Advisor on International Relations and Diplomacy, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Işıksal, during an international forum in Azerbaijan titled “Towards a New World Order.”

In his statement, President Tatar added:

"President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of the Organization of Turkic States and stated that the member countries should strengthen their relations with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He acknowledged that the European Union's alignment with certain states has created a new dynamic, but underlined that this would not hinder the development of bilateral ties or the work of the Organization of Turkic States. During the meeting, we also discussed increasing student and tourist exchanges between our countries, along with facilitating visits by youth and investors to further strengthen bilateral relations."
