In a joint statement, the groups declared they would "ignite the flame of protest" this evening, expressing firm opposition to the government's changes. They warned that if the amendments are not withdrawn, the protest movement will escalate and could culminate in a general strike.

The unions have criticized the new provisions as repressive and incompatible with democratic principles, vowing to take all necessary steps to defend workers’ rights and freedoms.
