In a written statement, Alas criticized the government’s Disciplinary Regulation, calling for its withdrawal. He stated, "The justification for the regulation has collapsed, resistance has increased, and the government has lost."

Alas pointed out that the justification for passing the regulation was the case of a student changing schools and enrolling at Hala Sultan Theology College, which, according to him, meant the government’s regulation was ineffective. "This means the regulation introduced by the government didn’t work. The resistance succeeded, the government lost, and another failed regulation has been created, which was unnecessary from the start," he said.

He also noted that not only individuals with specific political views but also thousands of members from all three parties that form the government, as well as the majority of society, have reacted negatively to the regulation. Alas described the regulation as extremely unnecessary, wrong, and provocative.
