Akansoy and İncirli Appointed as CTP Spokespersons

Following its recent congress, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) convened the first meeting of its newly formed Party Assembly. At the meeting, Asım Akansoy and Sıla Usar İncirli—both of whom lost the race for party secretary general to Erkut Şahali—were appointed as the party’s new spokespersons.

Asım Akansoy, who previously served as CTP’s secretary general, was eliminated in the first round of the recent leadership contest. Despite this, he has now been entrusted with a prominent communicative role within the party, sharing spokesperson duties with Sıla Usar İncirli.
During the Central Executive Committee (MYK) election, Murat Şenkul withdrew from the race after tying with Fikri Toros in the vote count. The MYK election followed the selection of Erkut Şahali as the new secretary general in the Party Assembly’s first post-congress session.
