First Hearing Held in Tatar's Lawsuit Against YENİDÜZEN and Journalist Serhat İncirli

The first hearing in the lawsuit filed by President Ersin Tatar against newspaper YENİDÜZEN and journalist Serhat İncirli was held at the Nicosia District Court. Filed in 2023, the case involves a demand for aggravated damages, reportedly between 2 and 5 million Turkish lira. The hearing was adjourned to a later date to allow for the testimony of Serhat İncirli and other witnesses.

Speaking outside the courthouse, YENİDÜZEN News Editor Ertuğrul Senova noted that President Tatar personally attended the hearing and made various allegations against both YENİDÜZEN and İncirli.
YENİDÜZEN's lawyer, Aslı Murat, also addressed the press, providing further details about the proceedings. She explained that President Tatar was the first to testify and was questioned both by his own legal team and by the defense.
Highlighting that the case was postponed to allow the second defendant to testify, Murat stated, “We will continue with the hearings with the testimonies of Serhat İncirli and our witnesses.”
