Speaking on the “Gündem” program hosted by Ulaş Barış on Kıbrıs Postası TV, Çeler stated, “Either this regulation will go, or the government will.”

Criticizing the government’s disconnect from both its voter base and the public, Çeler emphasized the public's support for teachers, as well as for Atatürk's principles and reforms. He asserted that the regulation will ultimately not be implemented and confirmed that the TDP has completed its legal file and will submit it to the court tomorrow.

"Since we are not currently represented in Parliament, we may face some difficulties," he said, noting that trade unions are also submitting their own legal challenges. "This situation once again highlights the disadvantage of the TDP’s absence in the legislature."

"UBP Is Destroying Itself and Damaging Society"

Warning that life across the northern part of the island would grind to a halt if the regulation is not withdrawn by April 28, Çeler harshly criticized the ruling coalition’s largest party, the National Unity Party (UBP). “UBP is destroying itself to save the AK Party, and in the process, it is also destroying society,” he said.

Çeler also expressed disappointment in the lack of support from Turkey’s main opposition party, the CHP. “We’ve stood by them on matters of democracy and freedoms. But now, they seem to have accepted being labeled ‘pro-Greek’ or ‘anti-Turkey’ and haven’t said a single word in our defense.”

He stressed that no one over the age of 18 should be subjected to interference over their religious beliefs and reiterated the public's commitment to secularism and Atatürk’s principles. He also accused the government of avoiding early elections out of fear.

"TDP Seen as the Last Hope"

Highlighting TDP’s engagement with the public, Çeler claimed that citizens increasingly see the party as the “last hope.” He added, “We believe in what we can achieve. The TDP is a part of this society.”

Speaking about his recent meeting with former minister and former Democratic Party leader Serdar Denktaş, Çeler said the conversation took place in good faith. He noted that the party is open to dialogue with anyone who shares a commitment to social democracy and Atatürk’s principles and reforms.
