Tufan Erhürman: It Is Not Anyone’s Place to Insult the People

The leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Tufan Erhürman, sharply criticized Turkey's Presidential Advisor Oktay Saral’s controversial remarks, stating, “It is not anyone’s place to insult the people, regardless of their position.”

Erhürman expressed his strong disapproval of Saral’s remarks on his personal social media account, emphasizing that no one has the right to insult the people, no matter their position.
Erhürman’s statement reads as follows:
“‘We still can’t rid Cyprus of the Greekness...’
This statement was made by Turkey’s Presidential Advisor.
It reflects the utmost arrogance of a mentality that is either ignorant of or unwilling to learn about this country, its people, its history, and the struggle we’ve endured here.
He also referred to the Prime Minister as 'Boşbakan' (empty prime minister). In the void created by Mr. Tatar, Mr. Üstel, and those who claim to govern this country, it seems anything can be said to this country, its people, and its institutions.
This is the result of your irresponsibility in the relationship between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You have created the ground for these insults.
Those who are silent should remain silent! It is not anyone’s place to insult the people, regardless of their position. We will never allow this!”
