“I was deeply saddened by Oktay Saral’s remarks about our Prime Minister, Mr. Ünal Üstel,” Tatar said. He stressed that the Turkish Cypriot people have carried the honor of the Turkish nation and the banner of Islam in the Mediterranean since 1571. “As Turkish Cypriots, we have served as frontier guardians of the Turkish world in this region,” he said. “Saral’s remarks are not only inappropriate—they are divisive.”

Tatar warned that such statements risk sowing discord between the people of Anatolia and the Turkish Cypriots and serve only the interests of external forces seeking to divide. “Our support for Prime Minister Üstel is absolute,” he affirmed. “No one should ever question the Turkish Cypriot people’s faith or identity.”

Calling for national unity, Tatar urged the public to remain calm and respectful in expressing their views. “We will continue to stand side by side with Anatolia to protect our unity and shared future.”
