UBP Votes Down Request to Lift MP Yeşilırmak’s Immunity

The request to lift the parliamentary immunity of National Unity Party (UBP) MP Emrah Yeşilırmak was rejected by votes from UBP members.

A special committee formed in the Republic’s Assembly to assess the request held its final meeting today. During the session, the proposal to revoke Yeşilırmak’s immunity was voted down by the three UBP deputies on the committee, meaning the request was rejected by majority vote.
The committee, chaired by UBP Secretary-General Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, also included UBP MPs Hasan Küçük and Ahmet Savaşan, as well as Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MPs Ürün Solyalı and Ongun Talat.
A report detailing the outcome is currently being prepared and will be submitted to the Assembly once finalized.
