17 Fires Occurred Last Week

In the TRNC, 17 fires and 40 special service incidents occurred last week. According to the report published by the Fire Department covering the period from April 21 to April 27, the 17 fires caused damages amounting to 1,023,000 TL.

The possible causes of the fires were listed as: "electrical short circuits, cigarette butts thrown without being extinguished, sparks from electricity wires touching each other due to wind, igniting dry grass, burning by individuals, fuel leaking from a vehicle’s engine and coming into contact with hot components, uncontrolled fires set for cleaning purposes, and accumulated oil residues in an operating hood heating up and igniting."
The 40 special service incidents that occurred were as follows:
"Taking precautions against fires, rescuing individuals trapped in vehicles following traffic accidents, individuals locked in bedrooms, those trapped in elevators, and cats stuck in vehicle engines, composite coverings, elevators, and rainwater drainage pipes. Additionally, ensuring the transfer of deceased individuals to the hospital for forensic investigation purposes."
