Following a meeting with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Yılmaz emphasized the enduring ties of brotherhood and shared ideals between Turkey and Northern Cyprus. He noted that the meeting also addressed preparations for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s upcoming visit to the TRNC on May 3.
During Erdoğan’s visit, the official opening of the new Presidential and Parliamentary buildings in the TRNC will take place. President Erdoğan is also expected to attend the TEKNOFEST event, which will be held at the former Ercan Airport terminal in Nicosia.
Describing the newly constructed Presidential and Parliament buildings as symbols of the Turkish Cypriot people's struggle for justice and rights, Yılmaz said the complex would stand among the most important landmarks of the TRNC.
He expressed his pride in bringing TEKNOFEST, Turkey’s premier national aviation, space, and technology festival, to Northern Cyprus. “We are delighted to unite the Turkish Cypriots with TEKNOFEST, which connects local and national technologies with youth and the public,” he said.
Highlighting the event’s significance for future generations, Yılmaz added, “TEKNOFEST is a vital organisation that instills self-confidence in our youth, introduces them to science and technology, and fosters a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. We take great pride in it.”
Yılmaz concluded by extending a renewed invitation to all young people in both Turkey and the TRNC to attend the festival.
