TEKNOFEST Draws 62,000 Visitors on Opening Day in the TRNC

The aerospace and technology festival TEKNOFEST, held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), welcomed 62,000 visitors on its opening day.

The event is taking place at the former Ercan Airport under the auspices of the TRNC Presidency, in collaboration with the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, alongside 132 partner institutions.
Running until May 4, the festival features 116 booths hosting technology-themed activities aimed primarily at students and youth. The program includes aerial demonstrations by domestically produced aircraft, various technology competitions, and interactive exhibits.
Highlights include a Science Street for children aged 6 to 14, a showcase of aircraft, planetarium screenings, the Cyprus Peace Operation Experience Zone, a Turkish Resistance Organization exhibition, a space exhibit, XR and simulation experiences, introductory flights for students, pedal-powered flight activities, science shows, and stage performances.
Admission to TEKNOFEST TRNC is free, but visitors must register through the festival’s official website. While each attendee requires a separate ticket, registration is not required for children under the age of 7. Festival grounds are open to visitors daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
