“Fake Diploma” Trial Postponed to June 11

The trial concerning the “fake diploma” investigation launched at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTÜ) has been postponed to June 11.

Among the defendants are former Famagusta Police Chief Mahmut Barış Sel and the university’s secretary general and shareholder Serdal Gündüz, both of whom appeared once again before the Nicosia Assize Court today.

The hearing, presided over by the Nicosia Assize Court panel, was adjourned until Wednesday, June 11.

Attorney Buse Asena Uluğ was present in court on behalf of defence lawyers Doğa Zeki and Mustafa Asena.

During the preliminary inquiry hearing held at the Güzelyurt District Court, a total of two witnesses were heard and 24 exhibits were presented. Mahmut Barış Sel faces charges in 20 separate cases, while Serdal Gündüz has been charged in 14.
