South Cyprus Participates in First Eurovision Semi-Final on Tuesday

South Cyprus’ Eurovision 2025 entry Theo Evan will be performing at the first semi-final of the 69th Eurovision song contest at 10pm Cyprus time on Tuesday.

Evan will take the stage with the song “Shh” as the last of 18 acts, which include entries from Iceland, Spain, Ukraine and Belgium. A public vote will decide those taking part in the final in Basel, Switzerland on Saturday, May 17 at 10pm Cyprus time.
Theo Evan, whose real name is Vangelis Theodorou, is the first Cyprus-born artist to represent the country at Eurovision since 2017. In recent years, most of Cyprus’ entries have been Australian-born performers.
This year’s song, “Shh” was written by Dimitris Kontopoulos, Lasse Nymann, Linda Dale, and Elsie Bay, with lyrics by Elke Tiel.
Last year, Cyprus performed 20th in the final and finished 15th out of 25 countries.
