German Real Estate Agent's Property Usurpation Trial Postponed

Nicosia district court has postponed the testimony of the German real estate agent accused of usurping Greek Cypriot property in the north which was due for another hearing on Wednesday. The new hearing has been set for May 23.

The 49-year-old German suspect faces a total of 44 charges for the advertisement, promotion, selling and the use of several properties in four different areas in the Ayios Ambrosios and Kyrenia area. Additionally, she is accused of obtaining an income of €169,000 from “fraudulent acts” and purchasing an apartment for herself in the north without approval of the legal owner.
The suspect has denied all charges brought against her.
The hearing has been postponed several times in the past, with no reason provided for the latest delay. The trial of the German real estate agent began in March 2025.
The case came to light after the woman reportedly spoke about selling property in the north to an off-duty police officer during an inbound flight to Cyprus in July 2024. The first officer reportedly informed the woman that selling property in the north was illegal, something to which she did not respond and later reportedly told his colleague. An investigation was launched shortly after.
