Man Dies After Falling While Trying to Enter His Home Through Balcony
A 23-year-old man, Courage Chirigo, lost his life in Gemikonağı while attempting to enter his apartment through the balcony after reportedly forgetting his keys. The tragic incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on 15 May 2025.
According to the Police Press Office, Chirigo climbed onto the balcony of a neighbouring apartment in an effort to reach his own. While attempting to cross over to his balcony, he lost his balance and fell approximately 10.7 metres to the ground.
He was initially rushed to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and later transferred to Near East University Hospital, but despite all medical efforts, he could not be saved.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
