Two Injured in Collision Between Pickup Truck and Motorcycle in Famagusta
Two people were injured in a traffic accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Famagusta on the evening of Wednesday, 14 May 2025. The collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Sincan Street.
According to police reports, the accident happened when 57-year-old Zeki Özgürkanlılar, driving a pickup truck with license plate NV 778, made a careless right turn into an unnamed side street while travelling south. During the manoeuvre, he collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, driven by 26-year-old Hasan Basri Demir, with 24-year-old Başak Baykara as a passenger.
Both Demir and Baykara were injured in the crash and taken by ambulance to Famagusta State Hospital. Demir sustained a fracture in his left hand, and both individuals remain under observation in the Emergency Department.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
