‘Stateless’ Association to Hold Mass Citizenship Application Protest in South Nicosia on Monday

The ‘Kimliksizler Derneği’ (Stateless Association) has announced that it will stage a mass citizenship application protest in South Nicosia on Monday, aimed at supporting individuals whose applications for Republic of Cyprus citizenship have been rejected.

According to a statement by the association, the action is meant to draw attention to the difficulties faced particularly by individuals born in Cyprus to one foreign parent within a legally recognised marriage, whose applications are often refused.
The association described this policy as incompatible with the seriousness expected from a state and in violation of civil rights, stating that the protest is being organised “to oppose this unjust stance and to support those who wish to apply.”
The protest will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the southern side of Ledra Palace, from where participants will march at 9:00 a.m. to the District Administration Office in South Nicosia to submit their applications.
The association emphasized that the protest is open not only to those who have not yet submitted an application, but also to individuals who have already applied or who have not personally faced this issue, as an act of solidarity.
The application forms and the list of required documents can be found in detail on the association’s social media pages and on its website at https://kimliksizlerdernegi.blogspot.com/.
