The first accident took place around 11:00 p.m. on 15 May 2025 on the Akova-Yıldırım main road, where 24-year-old Çağakan Aydaş sustained serious injuries. While riding his UR 134-registered motorcycle in the direction of Yıldırım, Aydaş reportedly lost control of the vehicle near the Yıldırım Wedding Hall, veered off the road to the left, and collided with curb stones. The impact threw both the motorcycle and rider onto the road.

Aydaş was first taken to Famagusta State Hospital, and later transferred to Near East University Hospital in Yeniboğaziçi, where he was diagnosed with brain hemorrhage and internal bleeding, and remains under intensive care. Police stated that an investigation is ongoing.

The second accident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on 16 May 2025 in the Bedis area of Famagusta. 30-year-old Seda Sarı, driving a NU 469-registered vehicle under the influence of 82 milligrams of alcohol, lost control of the car while heading east. The vehicle veered off the road near the Bedis Picnic Area and struck a eucalyptus tree in an open dirt area.

No injuries were reported, but legal action has been initiated against Sarı for driving under the influence and causing a traffic accident. Police investigations continue.
