Dusty Air Expected to Affect the Region
The Meteorology Department has issued a warning that dust particles are expected to cause air pollution in the region starting from tomorrow night.
According to the announcement, dust carried from North Africa is predicted to begin affecting the area from midnight on 17 May (Saturday) and continue until 11:59 p.m. on 18 May (Sunday).
The department highlighted that this dust transport may adversely impact especially those sensitive to dust. During this period, a decline in air quality is expected. Therefore, individuals in risk groups, particularly those with chronic respiratory conditions, are advised to take necessary precautions.
