British Tourist Arrested After Drunken Disturbance in Ayia Napa

Police arrested a 19-year-old British tourist in the early hours of Friday after he allegedly attempted to attack bystanders while intoxicated at Limanaki in Ayia Napa.

Officers responded to reports of a disturbance at approximately 2:00 a.m. and detained the man on multiple charges including public intoxication, causing public disturbance, breach of peace and public verbal abuse.
During the arrest, the suspect reportedly resisted officers and attempted to assault police. He lost his balance during the confrontation and fell to the ground, sustaining a cut to his eyebrow.
Emergency services transported the tourist to Famagusta General Hospital where he received treatment before being discharged.
The man remains in custody as Ayia Napa Police Station continues its investigation into the incident.
