Young Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Accident in Pınarbaşı
A 25-year-old motorcyclist, Rifat Gezici, lost his life in a traffic accident that occurred on 15 Kasım Street in Pınarbaşı. The driver of the other vehicle involved, 63-year-old İbrahim Timbıl, was injured and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the accident took place at around 6:00 p.m. Timbıl, who was driving a car with registration number RA 928 eastbound on 15 Kasım Street, attempted to turn carelessly toward his residence on the southern side of the road. During the maneuver, he collided with a speeding motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction, driven by Rifat Gezici and registered ZJ 128.
Gezici sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia, where he succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
İbrahim Timbıl remains under treatment at the same hospital.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
