The strong growth in April contributed to a notable increase in the overall tourist numbers for the first four months of 2025. Between January and April, the total number of tourists visiting South Cyprus surpassed 865,000, reflecting a 15.6% increase over the 748,814 arrivals during the same period in 2024.

British tourists comprised the largest group of visitors in April, accounting for 36.3% of all arrivals. This highlights the continued importance of the UK market for South Cyprus’s tourism sector.

Despite a slight decrease of 0.8% in tourist arrivals in March compared to the previous year, April’s figures mark a strong recovery and set a new record for the month. The growth signals a positive trend for the tourism industry in South Cyprus as it continues to attract increasing numbers of international visitors.

Officials have attributed the rise in tourist arrivals to a combination of factors, including enhanced travel connectivity, increased marketing efforts, and the island’s appeal as a year-round destination.

The robust performance in early 2025 bodes well for the tourism sector’s outlook for the remainder of the year, with stakeholders optimistic about sustaining this upward momentum.
