YDP to Decide on Presidential Candidate Support on Friday

The Rebirth Party (YDP) will decide whom to support in the upcoming presidential elections during its Party Assembly meeting scheduled for Friday. The meeting was initially planned for today but was postponed due to an extension in YDP leader and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı's visit to Ankara.

According to information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası, the Party Assembly meeting will not only address the roadmap to be followed in the presidential election but will also discuss proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
The meeting will determine whether the party will support the incumbent President Ersin Tatar—who has already announced his independent candidacy and has the backing of the National Unity Party (UBP)—or another candidate.
So far, those who have announced their candidacies include President Ersin Tatar and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Tufan Erhürman.
