Speaking at a consultation meeting in Kyrenia with local mukhtars, Üstel outlined the government’s achievements and shared his vision for 2026. “The year 2026 will be a turning point, marking the digitalization of state administration and the standardization of citizen-focused services,” he said.

According to a statement from the Prime Ministry, Üstel emphasized the importance of listening to local leaders’ demands, declaring, “The strong bond we have with the people guides our actions.”

"Serving the Public Is the Core of Our Politics"

Stressing that the foundation of his political vision is serving the people, Üstel affirmed the government’s commitment to developing the TRNC and providing future generations with a more modern and secure life. “We place public welfare at the heart of every step we take,” he noted, underlining that government policies are carried out with a people-oriented and solution-focused approach.

"Mukhtars Are the Backbone of the State"

Reassuring local mukhtars that they are not alone, Üstel recalled key improvements made to their working conditions in previous terms. He stated that, with Turkey’s support, 110 mukhtars were provided with prefabricated offices and that the rest would be completed soon. “We make promises, and we fulfill them without forgetting—because every promise we make is a debt to our people,” he said.

"A New Era with e-Government"

Üstel highlighted that the e-Government Project, which aims to accelerate bureaucracy and facilitate citizen-state relations, is nearing completion. “We live in a digital age, and the TRNC cannot remain outside this transformation. Through e-Government, all data will be centralized, processes will be faster, and citizens will easily access government services. The workload of mukhtars will be reduced, and the system will become more efficient, secure, and transparent,” he explained.

He added that as of 2026, all procedures will be integrated and accessible through the e-Government gateway.

Once the MAKS Project is finalized, all street- and neighborhood-level data will be available to mukhtars in digital format. “This system will not only provide convenience but will also be a strategic asset for the state’s security and order,” Üstel said.

Reiterating his earlier remarks, Üstel concluded, “The year 2026 will be a milestone in the digitalization of state governance in the TRNC. Once the e-Government system is fully operational, citizens will complete their transactions in 10–15 minutes, free from bureaucratic obstacles. This transformation guarantees higher quality service and a stronger state structure. We are not merely serving this country—we are adding value to it.”
