Turkish Ambassador Başçeri: “Our Dream Is Shared, Our Future Is One”

Ambassador Başçeri highlighted the challenges faced by producers due to rising input costs and recalled his involvement in earlier support projects for producers during his previous tenure at the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia.

“We recognized that individual solutions are not sufficient,” Başçeri said, pointing to the financial strain experienced by small-scale livestock farmers. He noted that the need for structured support led to the establishment of milk collection centers in designated areas across Northern Cyprus.

He acknowledged the role of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in backing the project and emphasized the importance of adaptability: “One can take steps forward, but if those steps don’t go as planned, we must have the ability to adjust to realities.”

Başçeri expressed hope that with such initiatives, the hard work of producers would be transformed into value. He concluded by reaffirming Turkey’s ongoing support: “With the motto ‘Our dream is shared, our future is one,’ we will continue to stand by the Turkish Cypriot people and producers.”
