“I Will Do My Best to Build Bridges and Achieve Results,” Says UN Special Representative Holguín

The meeting, which began at 10:30 a.m. at the Presidential Office, lasted approximately one and a half hours.

Following the meeting, Holguín spoke to the press first, followed by President Tatar.

Holguín described the discussion with President Tatar as very good and productive.

She noted that she carefully listened to President Tatar’s concerns regarding property issues. They addressed the Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) agreed upon by the parties in Geneva in March, emphasizing the need to achieve results on these matters ahead of the next meeting scheduled for July in New York.

“I will work hard, do my best, and build bridges to achieve concrete outcomes,” Holguín said.

She also announced that she will meet again with Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides on Friday.

Highlighting the need to build trust, Holguín stressed the importance of listening to both leaders and understanding their concerns.
