CTP Challenges Two Regulations in Constitutional Court

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has filed a case with the Constitutional Court, arguing that two recent regulations concerning secondary education and customs violate constitutional principles. CTP Secretary-General Erkut Şahali emphasized that the party would not compromise on the principles of secularism and the rule of law.

The party submitted legal challenges to the "Regulation Amending the Rules and Disciplinary Measures Inside and Outside Secondary and High Schools" and the "2025 Customs and Production (Duties and Fees) (Rates and Amounts) Regulation," both of which have drawn significant public criticism in the fields of education and the economy.
Following the application, Şahali made a brief statement declaring, "We will not compromise on fundamental constitutional principles such as secularism and the rule of law. We will not allow the government to challenge society, and we will continue to stand in solidarity with our stakeholders."
Şahali also underscored CTP’s commitment to preventing arbitrary practices in the public sphere, stating that their legal struggle would continue.
