Christodoulides: Next Expanded Cyprus Conference to Be Held in New York

Speaking during the annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber in Limassol, Christodoulides emphasized his administration’s ongoing efforts to create the conditions necessary for the resumption of negotiations. “We are continuing our efforts away from the public eye, avoiding statements that may serve other purposes,” he said.

Christodoulides noted that during his most recent meeting with Holguín, substantial issues were discussed, including topics outlined in the UN Secretary-General’s framework. He also revealed that he had presented four different scenarios for moving the negotiations forward and affirmed that the Greek Cypriot side is fully prepared for each of them.

Despite the challenges and public statements, Christodoulides said that Holguín’s efforts are ongoing and stressed, “We remain committed to this objective.”
