NBA Finals Set: Oklahoma City Thunder to Face Indiana Pacers
The 2025 NBA Finals are officially set, with the Indiana Pacers defeating the New York Knicks 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals to earn a matchup against the Western Conference champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Pascal Siakam was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP following a dominant series.
In Game 6, held in Indiana, the Pacers pulled away in the third quarter and secured a 125–108 victory. Siakam led the way with 31 points, capping off a series in which he averaged 24.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. The veteran forward, who previously won an NBA title with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, played a pivotal role in leading Indiana to its first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.
With this result, the 2025 NBA Finals will see the Oklahoma City Thunder face the Indiana Pacers in what marks a historic matchup—the first time in NBA history that both Finals teams are below the luxury tax threshold. Under league rules, teams with payrolls exceeding $170 million must pay the luxury tax. Both Oklahoma City and Indiana have managed to build Finals-worthy rosters while staying under that limit.
The series tips off on Friday, June 6, with Game 1 scheduled for 3:30 a.m. Turkish time. The Thunder will hold home-court advantage.
