11 Fires and 19 Rescue Operations Reported Last Week

The likely causes of the fires included electrical short circuits, overloaded electrical systems, residual embers in barbecue chimneys igniting, sparks from fireplaces setting carpets alight, cigarette butts discarded without being fully extinguished, and fuel leaking from vehicle engines and catching fire upon contact with hot components.

The 19 rescue operations involved a range of emergency situations, including:

• Rescuing individuals trapped in elevators,

• Freeing cats stuck in car engines, behind composite paneling, on rooftops, and inside rainwater drainage pipes,

• Rescuing a person who had fallen into a septic tank, and

• Transporting deceased individuals to hospitals for judicial investigations.

The Fire Department reiterated its call for heightened public awareness and preventative measures to reduce fire hazards and ensure safety in both residential and public spaces.
