Man Arrested for Illegal Entry to TRNC by Boat from Antalya
A man identified as H.A. was arrested in Nicosia after it was discovered he had entered the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus without official documentation. Police revealed that H.A. had arrived by boat from Antalya, entering the country through an unauthorized port.
During a routine patrol on Saturday at around 10:40 p.m., a police unit spotted the suspect at a business operating in the Kermiya Social Housing area. Upon inspection, it was determined that H.A. had no record of official entry into the TRNC.
According to the police, H.A. stated during questioning that he had boarded a boat from an unknown beach in Antalya on May 30 and arrived in the TRNC via an unapproved landing point.
H.A. was taken into custody, and an investigation was launched. Police informed the court that the investigation had just begun and requested a two-day detention period.
Judge Çiğdem Güzeler granted the request and ordered that H.A. remain in custody for two days.
