194 Vehicles Banned from Traffic, 13 Drivers Arrested

Between 26 May and 1 June, traffic inspections conducted across the country resulted in 2,465 drivers being reported for various offences. A total of 194 vehicles were taken off the road and 13 drivers were arrested.

According to the Police Press Office, a total of 14,308 drivers were checked during the week-long traffic inspections. Legal action was initiated against 2,465 drivers found to be in violation of traffic laws.
The reported offences included: 824 cases of speeding, 250 speeding violations detected by mobile cameras, 19 cases of dangerous driving, 56 of careless driving, 227 for driving without a vehicle registration licence, 19 for driving without a licence, 37 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 57 for using a mobile phone while driving, 78 for not wearing a seatbelt, 96 for ignoring traffic signs and signals, 4 for running red lights, 78 for driving uninspected vehicles, 45 for driving uninsured or inadequately insured vehicles, 16 for operating passenger transport vehicles without a "T" permit, 13 for operating goods transport vehicles without a "B" permit, 34 for using window film that obstructs vision, 5 for riding a motorcycle without a protective helmet, 12 for violating lighting regulations or using insufficient vehicle lighting, and 845 other traffic offences.
