Christodoulides and Guterres Meet in France, Reaffirm Commitment to Restart Talks

Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Nice, France, on the sidelines of the Ocean Conference.

According to reports in the Greek Cypriot press, the two discussed recent developments ahead of the planned expanded Cyprus conference in New York and emphasized their shared determination to restart negotiations.
During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together toward the resumption of substantive talks aimed at resolving the long-standing Cyprus issue under UN auspices.
Guterres also briefed Christodoulides on the latest contacts made by his personal envoy, Maria Angela Holguin, during her recent visit to Turkey.
