Turkey to Review ECtHR Ruling in Property Case, Reaffirms Support for TRNC

In a written statement issued by the Ministry, Keçeli noted that the ECtHR's decision, announced on 10 June 2025, would be examined in detail in all its aspects.

He underlined the significance of the ruling in confirming the TRNC authorities’ determination to ensure the effective functioning of the Immovable Property Commission (IPC). “The affirmation of this determination is important,” Keçeli stated.

He also emphasized that the ruling constitutes a timely response to politically motivated arrests carried out by the Greek Cypriot Administration against TRNC and third-country nationals engaged in lawful activities under the TRNC’s property regime — a regime repeatedly recognized by the ECtHR.

Keçeli further remarked that the ruling serves as a strong rebuke to efforts aimed at spreading fear and suppressing the Turkish Cypriot people, targeting their economic well-being, and disregarding international law. He reiterated that Turkey fully supports the views expressed by the TRNC authorities in response to the decision.
