Foreign Ministry Confirms Safety of TRNC Delegation in Iran
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the delegation from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), currently in Iran, is safe and being hosted at the Turkish Embassy in Tehran.
The delegation, consisting of National Unity Party (UBP) MP Ahmet Savaşan, Dr. Remzi Gardiyanoğlu, and Dr. Hakan Ataç, had travelled to Iran to attend the 3rd ECO Health Tourism Conference and Expo organized by the Economic Cooperation Organization in the city of Hamadan.
In a statement issued by the ministry, it was noted that the delegation was expected to return to the country today. However, due to Israel’s recent strikes on Iran, commercial flights have been suspended, preventing their immediate return.
“Our delegation is currently being hosted at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Iran and is safe,” the statement read. The ministry added that efforts are underway to ensure the delegation’s return at the earliest and safest opportunity.
