In a statement shared via his personal social media account, Erhürman reacted to what he described as Tatar’s “harsh criticism” of both himself and his party, referring to remarks made by the president following a recent closed parliamentary session.

“Mr. Ersin made strong remarks about me and the CTP in connection to yesterday’s closed-door session, where for some reason questions from MPs were not allowed and no new or unknown information was presented,” Erhürman wrote.

He lamented the lack of transparency during the session, stating, “It’s unfortunate that Mr. Tatar did not agree to hold the meeting in public. Had he done so, we wouldn’t need to engage in this back-and-forth through the media today.”

Nevertheless, Erhürman said he was ready to take the discussion further, this time in public: “If Mr. Ersin wants to continue this debate through the press, I’m in. Let’s meet on any television program of his choosing. I am ready to openly discuss the property issue or any other topic he wishes—thoroughly, and in public.”
