In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, Üstel emphasized that the accusations against Erdoğan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were unfounded and defamatory. “The statements directed at our country and the President of the Republic of Turkey are nothing but outright slander and distortion,” he said.

Üstel argued that the Israeli government’s repeated references to Erdoğan highlight “the strength of his leadership in the eyes of the global conscience” and confirm the impact of the truths he continues to voice.

“We Fully Support This Justice Struggle Led by Erdoğan”

Recalling the mounting allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity directed at the Israeli government—particularly under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—Üstel noted that Erdoğan has been among the most vocal advocates for accountability at international tribunals. “Where Turkey stands is on the side of humanity,” Üstel said. “As the Turkish Cypriot people, we reiterate our full and unwavering support for this justice campaign led by President Erdoğan.”

Üstel extended his gratitude on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot people to Erdoğan, the Turkish nation, and the Republic of Turkey, stressing that Turkish Cypriots stand firmly with both the Palestinian and Turkish peoples.

“Erdoğan Has Become the Voice of All Conscientious Peoples”

Condemning Israel’s actions in Gaza, Üstel said: “The Israeli government has created a disgraceful scene before the eyes of the modern world by targeting children, women, and civilians. A regime that bombs hospitals and schools and tramples on the right to life cannot speak in the name of morality or law—such behavior is the definition of hypocrisy.”

He added that Erdoğan’s stance against Israeli oppression has not only been the voice of Turkey but of “all peoples of conscience,” and reaffirmed that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus would continue to stand tall behind this honorable position.

“We know very well that freedom is protected only through strong will and determination,” Üstel stated. “The Turkish Cypriot people secured their existence through Turkey’s Peace Operation in 1974. If we can breathe freely today, we owe it to that resolute intervention by our homeland.”

Üstel concluded by affirming that the bond between Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots is one of shared destiny. “Our love for our homeland is not just words—it is a reality written with history, struggle, life, and blood.”
