CTP leader Tufan Erhürman, Secretary-General Erkut Şahali, and Famagusta District Head Oktay Kayalp delivered speeches during the event.

“We Are Not Safe—Neither Domestically Nor Internationally”

CTP leader Tufan Erhürman emphasized that the country is facing deep insecurity both at home and abroad, stating, “We are living through one of the most difficult times in our history.”

He noted that the problems are affecting everyone collectively, adding, “We cannot recall a time in our history when we faced such uncertainty regarding demographics. Amid this growing population, we see the Turkish language losing its relevance.”

“Education Starts and Ends in Prefabricated Classrooms”

Erhürman criticized the state of the education system, stating that it begins and ends in prefabricated classrooms. He also pointed to severe issues in healthcare, arguing that accessing medical services has become nearly impossible.

“We don’t have enough doctors, enough medicine, or sufficient hospital infrastructure,” he said. “The euro is approaching 46 TL. Everything in the south has become cheaper than in the north, and everyone who can is shopping there.”

“From the economy to healthcare, this is one of the most troubling periods we’ve lived through,” Erhürman said, adding that people no longer feel safe in their own country.

“We Have Become a Trapped People”

Addressing the ongoing property crisis, Erhürman stated, “In the past, some of our people couldn’t travel to Turkey. Now, even our wealthiest contractors can’t travel anywhere in the world. We’ve been reduced to a people confined to Sarayönü.”

Referring to the presidency, he asked, “Of the past four presidents, which of their four-and-a-half-year terms were this unproductive? What has the presidency focused on? There haven’t even been negotiations.”

“We Must Stand Up—For Ourselves and for Our Children”

“This country is home to all of us, and especially for our children, it is time we rise up,” Erhürman declared. “The presidency must concern itself with the people’s problems. This election has become a defining moment. The next five years cannot resemble the past five. We have no right to make our children live through what we’ve just experienced again.”
