Four Arrested in Drug Raids in Famagusta and Lapta

Police operations in Famagusta and Lapta resulted in the arrest of four individuals on drug possession charges. Various types and quantities of illegal substances, as well as items considered to be of archaeological value, were seized as evidence. Investigations are ongoing.

Drugs and Antiquities Seized in Famagusta
According to the Police Press Bulletin, officers from the Crime Prevention Unit (CÖŞ) of the Famagusta Police Department conducted an operation at 1:00 p.m. yesterday. Approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine and 2 grams of cannabis were found in the possession of M.S.A. (M-25). V.E. (M-33), believed to be connected to the case, was also arrested.
Later at 2:00 p.m., narcotics officers searched the home of U.A. (M-30) and discovered around 45 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe believed to contain drug residue, and several items deemed to be archaeological artifacts—including two jugs, two oil lamps, a bowl, and a broken jug fragment. U.A. was taken into custody.
Drug Shipment Intercepted in Lapta
In a joint operation between the Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate and the Customs and Excise Department in Lapta, police intercepted a shipment addressed to C.Ş. (F-23). The package contained approximately 5 grams of cannabis, along with a plastic container, metal pipe, and grinder, all believed to be drug-related paraphernalia. C.Ş. was arrested at the scene.
Investigations into all incidents are continuing.
