Fire at Alayköy Industrial Zone

According to the police press bulletin, a fire erupted in a wire cage containing waste cardboard at a business operating in the Alayköy Industrial Zone. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The flames, extinguished by firefighters, damaged sandwich panels surrounding the storage area, metal shelving units inside, and various food and beverage vending machines.

Two Separate Apartment Fires in Famagusta

Two apartment fires also occurred in Famagusta on the same day, both resulting in property damage.

The first fire broke out in an apartment building on Remzi Göğüs Street, reportedly caused by a water pump that overheated while in operation. The fire destroyed the pump, a one-ton plastic water tank, and approximately 20 meters of piping.

In a separate incident on Ilgın Street, a fire ignited after a hairdryer left running on a bed overheated and set fire to a duvet and bed sheets. Various household items were damaged, walls were blackened with soot, and windows were shattered.

Large-Scale Field Fire in Gaziler

In the village of Gaziler, a large-scale fire broke out around 4:30 p.m. when sparks from contact between overhead power cables ignited dry grass. Approximately 130 donums of unharvested barley, 70 donums of stubble, and four electricity poles were burned in the blaze.
