Harmancı: Under Current Conditions, Supporting Erhürman Is the Right Choice
Nicosia Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı has stated that, under the current political circumstances, supporting Republican Turkish Party (CTP) candidate Tufan Erhürman in the upcoming presidential election is the correct course of action.
Speaking on Kıbrıs Genç TV, Harmancı responded to a question regarding the presidential race and a potential decision by the Communal Democracy Party (TDP), expressing his support for Erhürman. “In my view, the right thing under the current conditions is to support Mr. Erhürman,” he said.
Harmancı emphasized that unity among the left has been long overdue and underlined the importance of winning the presidency this time. “There is no need for further fragmentation in discourse. If TDP decides to support Erhürman, I will not run for the presidency,” he added.
