Stewart: “I Saw Willingness Among Leaders to Make Progress”

TRNC President Ersin Tatar met with Colin Stewart, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus and Head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). The meeting, held at the Presidential Office, started at 10:00 a.m. and lasted about an hour.

Following the meeting with Tatar, Colin Stewart stated that during his talks with the leaders, he observed a willingness to make progress ahead of the expected 5+1 informal meeting in New York in the coming weeks.
Stewart added that this visit to New York would be his last briefing to the UN Security Council before retirement. He emphasized that after completing farewell visits on the island, he plans to leave Cyprus at the beginning of August.
