Speaking on the live broadcast of Günaydın Haber Kıbrıs with Hüseyin Ekmekçi, Denktaş explained that his new movement is built on a foundation of combining his past experience with the energy of younger generations.

Responding to criticism that he “represents the old guard,” Denktaş said, “Innovation is not just about new names. We’ve seen that firsthand. Innovation is about vision, about solutions, projects, and programs — and I have demonstrated all of these before. Now, with our new party, we are doing it again. Many reforms in this country bear my signature. I carried them out despite criticism and opposition. Today, I am building a movement with my leadership experience and solution-oriented mindset, enriched by the energy of young people.”

“I Refuse to Stand by and Watch”

Addressing those who suggested he should step aside and make way for the younger generation, Denktaş responded: “I can’t stand by and watch the country fall apart. I’m not that person. I knocked on the doors of bright, capable young people in this country and told them it’s time to act. I tried other approaches too. But when no one else is willing to shoulder responsibility, when corruption has infiltrated every level of the state, when people are hopeless and suffering, when the economy is at rock bottom and the state is plagued by mismanagement — they expect me to sit on the sidelines? I’m the last person who could do that.”

“I Have No Personal Grievances”

Denktaş rejected claims that his criticisms of President Ersin Tatar and the government stem from personal issues. “I hold no personal grudges. My criticism is not directed at individuals but at their inability to fulfill the responsibilities of their positions. They are leading the country into dysfunction. My frustration is with the lack of governance and vision.”

“We Will Announce Our Vision and Team in July”

Denktaş confirmed that his party’s vision, program, and leadership team will be announced at a press conference in July. “In previous elections, certain tactics were used to put pressure on visible names. This distracted us from the real issues facing the country. That’s why we’ve refrained from announcing names so far — to avoid early pressure and move forward effectively. But in July, we’ll publicly introduce our party to the people,” he said.
