Tourist Arrivals in South Cyprus Surpass 4 Million in 2024

The number of tourists visiting South Cyprus in 2024 has exceeded 4 million, according to data released during the annual general assembly of the Cyprus Hotel Association (PASYXE), as reported by Alithia.

PASYXE President Thanos Michaelides announced that tourist arrivals increased by 5.1% compared to 2023, when the figure stood at 3.8 million. He added that tourism revenues also rose, reaching €3.2 billion in 2024, up from €3 billion the previous year.
Michaelides noted that the United Kingdom remained the island's largest tourist market with 1.3 million visitors. Israel followed with 425,000 tourists, while Poland ranked third with 337,000.
Regarding accommodation patterns, Michaelides stated that 64% of tourists stayed in hotels. Around 34% stayed either in the northern part of the island or in properties rented through platforms like Airbnb, both licensed and unlicensed.
Meanwhile, Fileleftheros reported that, according to the Statistics Department, tourism revenue for April 2025 reached €304.2 million—marking a 39.9% increase compared to the €217.4 million recorded in April 2024.
Total tourism income for the January–April 2025 period was estimated at €582.5 million, compared to €440.7 million in the same period of 2024.
