Second Arrest Made in Forged Document Case at Famagusta Land Registry

A second person has been arrested in connection with the submission of forged documents to the Famagusta Land Registry involving property transactions on behalf of two individuals residing abroad.

According to a statement by the Police Press Office, on June 30, 2025, a 21-year-old identified as C.G. allegedly submitted a forged document to the Land Registry, falsely claiming that two foreign nationals had the legal right to acquire immovable property in the TRNC. Despite the fact that these individuals did not have official permission to own property, C.G. reportedly added their names to an official decision document and presented it to a civil servant in an attempt to process the transaction. C.G. was arrested on the same day.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a second suspect, 40-year-old M.T., has also been identified and taken into custody.
